Desert Dogs

Documentary | 20 min | 2020 | HILLTON

Taghazout. There we meet Aya. She’s originally from Rabat, but left home at the age of 15. Since then she lives in Taghazout and skates all day. She’s free from restrictions, traditions and – upon all – rules. The community lives in tents next to the skate park and a main road. They don't have any money, neither necessities and especially hospitals for emergency cases.
Rabat. Ibrahim and his friends talk about the police and how much they are surveilled. They dream about how it would be completely different in Taghazout. "You can do anything you want there." At the same time all of those kids have an intact relationship with their parents and families.
Is that really absolute freedom? Or is it just an illusion to break a wish out of reality?
