Forever Longevity

Documentary, Reportage | 30 min | 2025 | NZZ Format, SRF
Bryan Johnson believes in immortality, Peter Thiel wants to inject himself with the blood of young people. Longevity is a trend - a billion-dollar market in which the wealthy are willing to dig deep into their pockets. Many methods promise a longer life, but scientific evidence is often lacking. Is a long life a privilege for the rich?
In the search for the super pill, it is often overlooked that it has long been known what actually prolongs our lives. NZZ Format shows you how you can live up to fourteen years longer, where the most centenarians live in Switzerland, why tennis is the healthiest sport and how the age of our organs will revolutionize medicine.
We spoke to leading experts to find out: Heike Bischoff-Ferrari, a renowned ageing researcher at the University of Zurich, and Daniela Jopp, head of the first Switzerland-wide study on centenarians (SWISS100).
